    Taking Charge of Tech: Tech Summit

    It's time to take charge - step up and own your accomplishments. Attend this year's Tech Summit to help foster a dialogue within the tech community.     Vantec Women's Pitch Night

    Elevator is partnering with Women in Tech to put on Vantec Women's Pitch Night on March 3rd, as part of Women in Tech Week 2017. This pitch event provides a space for female entrepreneurs to present and practice their 90s pitch in a comfortable environment. Industry experts provide feedback to help them improve, and the audience votes on their top three pitches. The three companies who receive the most audience votes may receive a 90s preview spot at an upcoming Vantec Angel Network Meeting. Our aim is to promote diversity and inclusiveness in the tech startup community; we invite all those in the community to participate as audience members.

    Catch the Bug: A workshop for girls in grade 10-12

    The UBC Computer Science Department is happy to announce a new workshop for girls, grades 10-12, that dives into the world of computer software, website, and mobile application testing. Join PQA's co-CEO and Chief Scientist, Christin Wiedemann, for a day of fun and challenging activities on 'catching the bug' and hear Christin and her colleagues talk about careers in the technology field. The workshop is delivered in partnership with PQA Testing, one of the leading software testing companies in Canada, and hosted by ACL, experts in data analytics and extraction products.

    An energetic cardio dance session bringing together women in tech. Let's get those hearts racing to empowering tunes by female pop culture icons Beyonce, Spice Girls, Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Janet, Madonna and more! This is an all levels dance class. Bring business cards and meet ambitious women in tech, women looking to get into tech, students and total tech-newbies! Fast paced fun guaranteed. All proceeds go to scholarships for young women taking courses in tech.
